Sam Nikte (Flor Rosa) Recipe

At UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya, one-of-a-kind handcrafted cocktails are our specialty and this month we’ve added an extra special drink to the Bar Balam menu.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness, our Executive Mixologist Luis was inspired to craft  a beverage that represents the delicacy, aroma, and beauty of every woman. 

Our newest pink drink at Bar Balam, ‘Sam Nikte’(also known as Flor Rosa)derived from a female Mayan name, is both refreshing and sweet. If you don’t have the chance to stop by and have your specialty drink made by Luis, feel free to tap into your inner mixologist and craft your own from the comfort of your kitchen with our unique recipe!

Recipe: 

• 1 ½ oz. of Vodka

• 1 oz. Triple Sec

• 1 oz. Rose & Bougainvillea syrup

• 2 oz. Grapefruit Juice

• ½ oz. Lime Juice

• Mineral Water

Preparation: 

• Pour all ingredients except the mineral water in a shaker

• Add Ice and shake 

• Serve in a Collins glass over ice 

• Add mineral water

• Garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit

• Relax & enjoy! 

Additionally, on Saturday October 23rd we will be hosting an all day event, Shake Like a Girl, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month where several local women bartenders will be adding their unique twist on handcrafted cocktails while incorporating the color pink into each beverage.
