POLICY ON THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS (ADHERENCE TO THE CODE & ECPAT)

I. Statement of Commitment

UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya, in alignment with the corporate social responsibility framework of RCD Hotels, maintains a zero-tolerance policy against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC) in travel and tourism. Our commitment is formalized through our active membership in the international protection network and our adherence to the principles of The Code and ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes).

We unconditionally reject any form of human trafficking and are legally and ethically bound to prevent, detect, and report any suspected instances of sexual or labor exploitation involving minors.

II. Implementation and Corporate Responsibility
  1. To enforce this policy, RCD Hotels has mandated the following measures across all its properties, including UNICO 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya:
    • Comprehensive Staff Training: All employees, at every level of the organization, undergo mandatory training to recognize and respond to potential CSEC situations.
    • Enforcement of a Strict Code of Conduct: All personnel are bound by a code of conduct that explicitly prohibits any involvement in or facilitation of CSEC.

Implementation of an Action Protocol: In the event of a suspected case of exploitation involving a guest or supplier, we will immediately activate and execute our established Action Protocol for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, which includes reporting to the appropriate legal authorities.

III. Mandatory Documentation Protocol for Minors

As an essential component of our security protocols for the protection of minors, check-in will be contingent upon the presentation of the following legal documentation in cases where an adult is traveling with a minor over whom they do not exercise direct parental authority (i.e., they are not the mother, father, or legal guardian).

It is the sole responsibility of the guest to procure and present all necessary documentation prior to travel.

A. For Foreign Nationals:
  1. Valid Passport for the adult(s), child(ren), and/or adolescent(s).
  2. Official Immigration Documents (duly sealed) certifying legal entry into the country for all members of the party.
  3. A legal authorization document, granted before a notary public or an equivalent competent authority, through which the individual(s) with parental authority or legal guardianship authorize the minor’s travel with the accompanying adult(s).

Important: Documents issued outside of Mexico must be duly legalized or apostilled and, if not in Spanish, must be accompanied by an official translation.

B. For Mexican Nationals:
  1. For Mexican Nationals:
  1. Official Identification for the adult(s) (e.g., valid Voter ID card or Passport).
  2. Minor’s Official Documentation (e.g., Birth Certificate, Personal Identity Card – CURP, or valid school ID with photograph).
  3. A notarized document (acta notarial) through which the individual(s) with parental authority or legal guardianship explicitly authorize the specific trip with the accompanying adult(s).
