INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

At Unico Hotel Riviera Maya the safety and wellbeing of our esteemed guests remain of utmost importance, especially in emergency situations. In light of severe weather conditions, we offer the convenience of accommodating reservation changes to ensure that our guests are able to fully enjoy their stay with us.
This policy applies solely in the event that your flight undergoes modification or cancellation as a result of inclement weather.

I. Policy Statement

UNICO Hotel Riviera Maya prioritizes the safety and well-being of its guests and staff. This policy outlines the procedures and accommodations available to guests whose travel plans are directly disrupted by officially declared inclement weather events.

This policy is exclusively applicable when an airline officially modifies or cancels a guest’s scheduled flight as a direct result of a severe weather event.

II. Provisions for Delayed Arrivals

In the event a guest is unable to arrive on their scheduled date due to a qualifying flight disruption, the following conditions and options apply, provided the reservation’s guarantee deposit has been fully paid:

  • Mandatory Documentation: The guest must provide official proof of flight modification or cancellation from the airline.
  • Reservation Options:
    1. Reschedule Arrival: Guests may arrive on a subsequent date and retain the original number of booked nights, subject to room availability.
    2. Accommodation Certificate: Alternatively, guests may request an Accommodation Certificate for the full value of the unused, prepaid nights. This certificate must be requested within sixty (60) days following the weather event.
III. Provisions for Extended Stays (Delayed Departures)

In the event guests are unable to depart as scheduled due to a qualifying flight cancellation:

  • Preferential Rate: UNICO Hotel Riviera Maya will offer a preferential, non-commissionable discounted rate for extended stays. This rate is subject to room availability.
  • Payment: Payment for additional nights must be settled directly at the Front Desk.
  • Early Departures: No monetary refunds shall be issued for early departures under any circumstances. Guests who choose to depart early may request an Accommodation Certificate for the value of the unused, prepaid nights.
IV. Accommodation Certificate Terms & Conditions
  • Validity: The Certificate is valid for one (1) calendar year from the original travel date.
  • Scope: The Certificate must be redeemed for the same room category, number of nights, and guest occupancy as the original reservation. Any upgrades or additions will incur supplemental charges.
  • Redemption: Redemption is subject to availability at the time of booking.
  • Non-Transferability: The Certificate is strictly non-transferable, non-negotiable, and has no cash value.
  • Inclusions: Airfare and transportation are not included. Any additional hotel perks from the original booking will be subject to availability for the new dates.
  • Blackout Dates: The Certificate is not redeemable during peak periods, including but not limited to Easter Week, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. Other blackout dates may apply.
V. Exclusions & Third-Party Reservations
  • Direct Bookings: This policy applies exclusively to reservations made directly via https://www.unicohotelrivieramaya.com.
  • Third-Party Channels: Guests who booked via tour operators, travel agents, or other third-party websites must contact their original booking agent or entity directly. The policies of the third party will govern the reservation.
  • Groups & Weddings: Reservations made as part of a group or wedding block, whether booked directly with the hotel or AIC Hotel Group, are subject to the specific terms outlined in their respective contracts.
VI. General Stipulations
  • This policy is subject to modification or discontinuation without prior notice.
